Students may be located in the United States, Liberia, and other countries where Learning to Leadership™ partners with schools and educational organizations.
Mentoring relationships are conducted primarily through virtual meetings, allowing professionals to support students across geographic and cultural boundaries while fostering global awareness, connection, and leadership.

We welcome professionals from a wide range of industries and backgrounds who are passionate about investing in the next generation.
This may include professionals in education, business and entrepreneurship, healthcare, engineering, technology, finance, law, government and public service, communications, media, arts and creative industries, science, nonprofit leadership, international development, skilled trades, and other professional fields.

Professional Mentors should be willing to:
- Meet consistently with their assigned student
- Maintain professionalism and appropriate confidentiality
- Communicate respectfully and encourage student growth
- Serve as a positive role model
- Participate in mentor orientation before being matched
- Work respectfully with students from different cultures, backgrounds, and educational systems
- Support their student throughout the agreed mentoring period whenever possible

Yes. Mentoring is conducted primarily virtually, which allows mentors and students to connect across locations and time zones.
Do I need previous mentoring experience?
Previous mentoring experience is welcomed but is not necessarily required. Professional experience, commitment, alignment with the program’s mission, and the ability to support and encourage young people will be considered during the application process.
Is there an application process?
Yes. Prospective mentors must complete the Professional Mentor Application. Applications are reviewed before mentors move forward with orientation and potential student matching.
